It was senior year of high school when the camel's back broke. Remus grabbed Roman's Golden Apple trophy and threw it at Roman. "Not everything has to be about you! I'm just as creative, smart, and good as you! This was the one night that was supposed to be about me, and you ruined it!"
Roman dodges the thrown object, his trophy for being actor of the year at his school. He glares at Remus. "Am I not allowed to show off my accomplishments? This is a big deal for me."
It was at that moment Remus finally accepted that Roman didn't care about him. That nothing he did will ever be as important as what Roman has done. "Fuck you." Then he storms off.
That was the last time Roman ever saw his brother.

The night sky was painted above Patton’s head, as deep and dark as his heart had been feeling. He had not one person to disclose himself to, as his husband Janus was yet again staying at work late. The 11 o’clock news had long since become background noise, Patton being lost in both his thoughts and the vodka he held in his hand. He had never been one to drink before, but as of late the thought of it had taken over until he finally gave in to his desire.
Normally when he was feeling this bad, he’d get himself lost at his writing desk, writing the poetry Janus had originally loved, but lately, it seemed to just be another annoyance to him. Everything Patton did nowadays worked only to test his patience, it felt. It had been that way more in the past year. Was it a year? Was it longer? Patton had found himself lost in time, even without the vodka settling into his system.

*Repost because I accidentally deleted the original, am looking for anyone who may have the missing chapter seven??Please???*
Virgil wants Patton back. He has no idea where he is, but he knows that he's missing. He knows because Patton would never be laughing with Remus as they exchanged dirty jokes. Patton would never be dying his hair blue at three in the morning with Roman or having a drinking contest with Logan. He knows Patton, and he knows that this impostor is not him.
He also knows that he hasn't seen Janus in weeks. He knows him just as well.
Desperate to save Patton, Virgil takes it upon himself to force Janus to reveal himself, no matter what it takes.
Note: The only reason this is rated mature is for violence and dark themes. There is no sexually explicit or graphic material, aside from implied/referenced/remembered nonconsensual kissing and physical contact. Basically, nothing that wouldn't be in a YA novel.
