"Sitting on the Federation’s boat as they returned to Quesadilla Island, Tubbo looked around at his friends. Some were inside having their wounds tended to, others were catching up on sleep as proper rest was a rarity, and the rest were scattered about alone or talking in small groups. Seeing so many of his friends alive and reunited as one should have made him happy, yet looking at them and the slowly fading Egg Island, all he felt was guilt."
Tubbo and his fellow islanders have escaped Purgatory, but he's still being haunted by the guilt he carries for being the reason none of the eggs are back of Quesadilla Island. So he decides to set out on his own and try to rescue them.

After the loss of Green Gay ninjas, Tubbo is pissed, but Bad is even more so, he chases Tubbo out of Soulfire and leaves him to die.
Tubbo began taking off his armour, his thin layer of clothes making a rare appearance. Bad stood behind him, not moving, not speaking, not really breathing. Everyone else had gone to bed, everyone else had left Tubbo to deal with Bad, which sure he was the leader but he was also just nineteen, barely an adult.
He put his food away in the chests, along with his armour and weapons, but he kept his communicator and MDA on him like usual, not letting them out of his grip.
He turned around to see Bad holding an axe, right to his head. Bad swung. Tubbo dodged. Bad swung again. Tubbo got hit, right along his back, leaving what would most likely be the largest scar he had so far in his life.
“BAD WHAT THE FUCK?”
“TUBBO I KNEW YOU SHOULD’NT'VE BEEN LEADER,”

“Why?” Tubbo asks, “What reason could you possibly have for putting me through hell?”
Bad smiles, a bitter twist of his lips that doesn’t reach his eyes, before whispering, “Because I loved you, too.”
Tubbo reels back like Bad had yelled instead of barely spoken at all, the forced calm in his expression swallowed by shock.
“I loved you, too,” Bad spits, “And that’s what my love does. It infects and ruins everything it touches. Just look at what happened in purgatory--”
