Summary
“Can’t help it when it comes to you.” It’s honest. Danny’s no liar or coward, not even to Yuta. He doesn’t deserve the truth, not when the admission made Danny feel awfully tender. Not in a sweet way. More like a wound. Sometimes Danny felt things in such extremes that he had no choice but to face those feelings. And what he knew about himself is that he had a mean streak and no one brought it out of him like Wheeler Yuta.
Danny runs into Yuta backstage after Collision, taunts him a little too much, refuses to not finish what he started, then wonders if it was really worth it.

Summary
Yuta is sitting on the bench of the locker room, hunched over, elbows digging into his thighs, when Daniel Garcia appears to him. What the hell, why not? Yuta’s a ticking time bomb loaded with anticipatory grief for all his future ghosts. Why not conjure one of past ghosts, just for kicks? It feels like some sort of sick joke, but it’s a joke, at least, and Yuta hasn’t had a good laugh in god knows how long.
Yuta gets some advice from an old friend.
Set after the 10/5/24 episode of Collision.

Daniel snorts out a bitter-sounding laugh, and Jon’s expression softens.
“Look,” Jon sighs, pausing to take a drag from his cigarette, “I don’t like you very much, sure, but for some reason, Wheeler does. And he trusts me to protect you, so that’s what I’m gonna do if it comes down to it: protect you.”

After a moment, Wheeler feels something metallic slide against his throat, and Daniel’s hands are gentle at the back of his neck, fingers working to fasten the chain.
“What’s this?” Wheeler asks, reaching up to brush his fingertips over the metal, warm from where it’s been undoubtedly resting against Daniel’s skin.
“It’s for good luck,” Daniel answers simply, dropping his hands to Wheeler’s waist as he places a kiss on the side of Wheeler’s neck, right above where his chain is resting.
