Summary
At first, Izuku doesn’t notice any difference as he walks across the bridge. The river still flows smoothly underfoot, and the forest is still full of the sounds of birds and insects, the wind gently making the trees sway. Then he hits the midway point of the bridge and his ears pop; the sounds of the forest start to dull as new sounds take their place.
He starts hearing whispers and chatter around him, noticing the same creatures he used to see before he understood his quirk.
He does his best to keep himself upright and confident-looking as his eyes scan his surroundings. He does his best not to hesitate as they step off of the bridge and continue along the path that is now much wider and more worn than back in the living world.Or,
Izuku and his mother live in a shrine. Izuku's quirk lets him see and speak with spirits and gods, along with being able to cross between the living and spirit worlds. Just as he thinks he's getting the hang of things, a prophecy that will dictate the survival or demise of humanity pulls the rug out from under him.

Like, it wasn't just him trying to toughen the nerd up. He sometimes came to class with more bruises than when he left, and how Izuku never really ate.
After learning how some people are treated in a quirk-based society and how little anyone is willing to help. Katsuki makes it his mission to save his first and only friend.

"You dance?"
A silly question, but a question nonetheless.
"Nope," Izuku shrugs. "I just know the entire routine of 'Giselle, ou Les Wilis' for shits and giggles."
The blonde snorts a sound of amusement. "You know any other routines for shits and giggles then?"
"If you're here for the Summer Solstice Recital, then I know every act, scene, routine sequence, and musical number."
"Huh." The blonde gets to his feet and steps closer. He tosses the left earbud in Izuku's direction. "Then dance, nerd."
Izuku catches it with a quick hand. A smile on his face and a quip on his tongue. "You gonna join me, pretty boy?"

This was the exact day he had been waiting years for, yet also the day he wished would never come. Katsuki’s racing anxieties began to quiet as he continued watching him. Though the class was over, Midoriya was still practicing. Katsuki was entranced as Midoriya glided across the shiny gray floors of the studio, as he jumped high into the air and landed with impressive twirls. "Beautiful", was the only thing Katsuki could think. "When did that nerd get so beautiful?"
In which Katsuki Bakugo learns to overcome the guilt of his past through rekindling his relationship with Midoriya, and learning to understand him through watching him dance.
