Galen had let go. The exact moment that he chose not to kill the clone that showed Juno's face. And failed again when he didn't kill Vader where he knelt, defeated. Again.
So perhaps he wasn't a true Sith. He needed to learn what the Jedi were before saying he wasn't one of those entirely either. -

Dagan set his saber down and coughed as he braced himself on the terminal. “We...We were invaded...” He swallowed hard as he looked down at his saber. “I held them at bay...for as long as I could, but......there were too many...”

Cal looked down at Dagan’s hand placement, seeing it was positioned over his saber, and he walked closer. Dagan began to dismantle his saber using the Force, and it wasn’t until Cal saw the glow of his kyber that he assumed the worst.

As the title implies, this now completed fic is just a novelized version of the amazing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor video game. This labor of love is for the fans who wish to experience this beautiful story in written format, on the go, or for those who may not have had the time or opportunity to experience playing the game. In it you can follow Jedi Cal Kestis on his continued journey through the galaxy and now experience it through the various view points of multiple characters - though Cal is still the prominent voice throughout. While this novelization sticks very closely to the game and includes all the major story beats and in-game dialogue [and action-filled gameplay mechanics], I’ve also taken the liberty to expand and add moments that enhance transitional points in the story or further flesh out our characters. Enjoy!
Note: A novelized version of the first game, Jedi:Fallen Order, is now in pre-production and will be added to this one in a Series collection once completed. The same will be done for the third game after its release in a couple of years.

With Vader now knowing that his children are alive and having gained a strong interest in making Cal his apprentice, Cal, now with a potential place that could be used to allow the Jedi to rebuild and disturbed by Vader's now personal pursuit of him, and Kenobi, no longer able to hide in Tatooine even if he still wanted to due to Vader now knowing about Luke, must work with Yoda and the Hidden Path to find Tanalorr, while being continuously hunted by Vader and the Empire and also facing Dagan Gera's own obsession with Tanalorr.
The future of the galaxy has changed entirely, paving the path to a better future, but the way there will not be easy...

The two met on his mission to Kashyyyk while the former was working with Saw Gerrera, and once Cal hit her with an offer she couldn't refuse, they've basically become family. Once the crew of the Stinger Mantis went their separate ways, Aria stuck with Cal, fighting the Empire and forming a new crew, all whilst battling the inner demons that they both carry wherever they go. But when tragedy strikes their new team, leaving the two Force users and someone they barely know as the only survivors, it becomes harder and harder to fight these demons, even when they reconnect with friendly faces. The struggles against passion, fear, anger and the Dark Side of the Force is a difficult fight for any Jedi. Dagan doesn’t need to spill anymore jedi blood, seeing as how most of it is gone. So, he needs to make something abundantly clear. “Listen to me,” his voice carried a quiet authority that even this wannabe jedi can feel, “I thank you for releasing me.”
The jedi manages to squirm a little in his hold, but not much given his state, there's a raw desperation in his eyes that irritates Dagan to look at. “But you’re just a dog for a dead order,” incidentally, his hand tightens in the jedi’s hair, causing him to wince.
He's not ungrateful, so he eases his hold, just a little, “you don't know the first thing about the Order."

A lone candle in the darkness can’t see its own light. It can only flicker every time the wind blows.Or: Do you wish Dagan Gera was the morally dubious Bioware/KOTOR companion? I’m here to grant that wish. So here’s the desperate and sometimes sad story of Cal trying build a team (read: family). Especially in his effort to recruit one particularly difficult Dagan Gera.
