He squinted into the blackness that was the room, but a second later he opened his eyes when two bright red dots appeared in the middle of the darkness.
But before he could flee or attack (more inclined to flee) a raspy voice, faint and frightened, whispered. "Daffy?"
Dodgers flinched and tensed at the same time, not from hearing that almost forgotten name, but from the voice that uttered it.
Dodgers, Daffy knew that voice. The one he hadn't heard even before he reached the 24 ½ century.
"Bugs?" muttered the black-feathered duck with a lump in his throat.
Bugs Bunny in the 24 ½ century? The same Bugs Bunny that Daffy hated and then loved? The same one that had owned his mind forever, even now? It was impossible.

Dodgers se estremeció y se tensó al mismo tiempo, no por haber escuchado aquel nombre casi olvidado, sino por la voz que lo pronuncio.
Dodgers, Daffy conocía esa voz. Aquella que no escuchaba incluso antes de llegar al siglo 24 ½.
