Summary
Quote should be happy. He really should.
For someone of his kind to find peace should have been impossible. But he did it anyway. He braved through hell, walked out with an eternal friend and faithful companion by his side, and carved out a small piece of the world for himself, where he could live out the rest of his days in freedom.
But it wasn"t a bloodless victory. The fact that there was blood at all makes him remember just what he is.
But that"s not what this story is about. Not entirely, at least.
What starts off as an attempt to settle old regrets leads to Quote trekking through a field of mid-spring snow, making him remember that yes, magic is real, and it’s only ever caused him trouble.

Summary
In the aftermath following the events of Cave Story, the main cast attempt to move on with their lives.
Two robots battle with growing feelings for themselves and each other, while the Sakamotos attempt to regain some sort of normalcy in their lives. Jenka begins to come to terms with her brother"s demise, while Misery and Balrog attempt to walk down the road of redemption.
Meanwhile, the denizens of the Island attempt to recover from the Doctor"s brief reign, all the while mourning their dead for the second time in ten years, and King attempts to move on.
Yet, even as they so, opposing forces from the Surface begin to plot against them, unwilling to see their long-awaited plans brought to ruin.
And life rolls ever onward.
