David rolled his eyes. Rolled his whole body, really, as if he thought Patrick were being difficult on purpose. "In your clothes."
Patrick looked down at himself. "Uh... professional?"
David pulled a face at that, particularly aimed at Patrick's jeans. Doubtful, maybe, Patrick would call it.
"And capable," Patrick added, more certain, after a moment.
David bit down his reaction to that, nodding begrudgingly. "Well, you have... certainly succeeded at that. A regular... handyman in his Sunday best."

Summary
Patrick finishes signing his life away, agreeing that he’s not currently drunk, high, or under the influence of any other mind-altering substances and is consenting to have someone jab him repeatedly with a needle for an indeterminate amount of time. He wanders away from the counter to look at the art on the walls.
Each of the paintings and sketches hanging up have “D. Rose” signed in the bottom right corner and he assumes that must be David. He knows the name, of course, if for no other reason than all the stalking he’s done on Instagram and TikTok, spending untold hours staring at David’s work and convincing himself it was time to do this and move on.
His breath catches as David rounds the corner and looks up in his direction. Suddenly, Patrick is feeling woozy again, less from the prospect of getting tattooed and more from the idea of having to remember to breathe for multiple hours in close proximity to the hottest man he’s ever seen.

Patrick glances at the charcoal drawings across the pages of the open book. David had long ago given him peeking privileges on his drawings, but he rarely uses it, preferring to let David show him what he wants to share. He can't help but admire these — the precise, detailed renderings of a room, he thinks, rearranged in a variety of ways. The images remind him of the mock-ups David had painstakingly created for every single facet of Rose Apothecary, making sure nothing was overlooked and everything was perfectly situated.

The first thing the internet told Patrick was to go to hospital. He knew he should go. But he also knew he couldn't drive himself, not with something lodged in his ass. And there's no way he's going to involve Ray in this mess. He briefly thought of Stevie, but they'd only met the day before and texting someone you barely know to come help you dislodge something out of your ass isn't exactly a great first impression. Which left... David.
"I can't." Patrick said to the empty room. "David can't know about this."

Patrick got something stuck in his ass one night. He calls on the only person he knows in Schitt's Creek, who happens to also be his new business partner and the man he wants more than anything, David.

David blinks awake slowly, the sound of choked sobs still disorienting as well as the way the bed slightly trembles. It takes another moment to click over that it’s Patrick that’s crying.
His husband is hunched over as if physically in pain, curled up against the headboard.
“Oh, honey,” David says, shifting himself into a seated position and reaching out toward Patrick.

David reorganizes the cupboard while he waits. The flosses are all out of order down here, probably from the last time Stevie slept over. It’s like she enjoys fucking with the careful order things to provoke him. David carefully resets all the little containers with their cotton swabs and cotton rounds, waiting. He does not send Stevie an angry text, because that’s all she wants.He’s in the middle of making sure the guest bathroom’s face care section is properly handled: cleaners, lotions, masks, and toners in single serve packets by skin type, when Patrick howls, “Owwww!”
“Is that a big ow or a small ow?” David calls, stopping his progress immediately.
“FUCK!” Patrick responds in a very un-Patrick like manner.
“Big ow,” David mutters to himself, snatching the first aid kit off the shelf. -

“Honey, what are you doing?” David looked down at him, brows quirked in amusement. Patrick blinked as he clicked on the lamp in the corner; he hadn’t realized how late it had gotten.
“Not knitting,” Patrick answered, dragging a hand backward through his hair. David tracked the motion, biting back a smile at his mused curls.
“Mmm, no, I can see that,” David shut the laptop delicately, settling on the couch at Patrick’s side.Patrick tries to learn how to knit a toque for David.

“Is there a catastrophe with the spreadsheet or—?” David trailed off, waiting for Patrick to respond.
“David, I just don’t feel well,” Patrick finally answered, his voice thin and drawn. “I am alright.”
His pursed lips turned into a deep frown as he pushed off the door jamb and moved closer to Patrick. His voice had taken on a distinctly bitchy tone as he pointed out, “Umm, not feeling well and being alright are too very different things.”
