Many years have passed in the Lands Between, now covered by a greater dark fog. The last Elden Lord vanished after The Fall. The Flames of Frenzy leaving their mark across the Lands Between. Grace has faded once more from the lands and with it all hope of restoring peace, yet in this darkness lies one small glimmer of hope, the last heir to the golden lineage, the last demigod.

She is calling him, he realizes, with that word. He frowns.
“No?” she blinks at him mildly.
He shakes his head. “Not my name,” he says. There is a tooth that juts up over his lip and it makes his ‘not’ a ‘noth.’
“Oh?” Janie raises an eyebrow. “I told you we will not name you dinner.”
Hydd shakes his head again. “My name,” he points to himself.
“Is,” Janie interrupts, “my name is…?”
“-is,” he adds, “Hy-the.”
“Hydd,” Janie repeats. It sounds pretty in her voice, and Hydd, who has only heard his name said by one person other than himself until this point, beams. He likes his name. “Oh, yes that is a pretty name. Fitting too, my little fawn.”
She does not ask where he heard such a thing, or who calls him that. It doesn’t matter, Hydd has not the words to explain it anyway.There is a little omen in the Lands Between. However did he get there?
