Summary
"Mom," he simply whispered in a hoarse voice. "Mom, I think Gi-hun just said he loves me."
There was no need at all to tell her this, but for some reason he felt a necessity to utter out loud.
Nevertheless, she didn't even look back at him and hardly seemed to be paying any attention, recounting the banknotes at the cashier."Oh, dear, of course he loves you, what do you mean?" the woman replied absentmindedly, not impressed at all.
"Nothing," Sang-woo said in a broken voice, vainly trying to make his hands stop shaking. "Nevermind."

Summary
Why did he make such a mess again? Hadn't he promised to himself to fix it all?
He had wanted to win this game, to pay back his debt, to rescue his mother's home and shop, to maybe even avoid prison so his mother would never know what a failure he was?
How had he gotten into this chaos? He had been the pride of his mother. Always top of the class - at school, at university. He had thought that he could do everything, because he was oh so clever.
He wasn't.How a single act creates hope among the hopeless and changes the whole game.
Well... not the whole game, but at least the people within it.
Sometimes it's harder to accept your mistakes than bury them beneath good intentions. -

Summary
In his darkest moments, Sangwoo hated Gi-hun as well. His simple-mindedness and naiveté; his jokes and stupid romance novels; the way he looked at Sangwoo with his big dark eyes and smile, impressed by the smallest thing he would say, even when they weren’t all that smart, because Gi-hun simply didn’t know any better.
Sangwoo hated Gi-hun for the same reasons he loved him.
