Summary
The faces around the fire are sullen in a way they never have been before, seats more empty then can be ignored as they had been when they began losing campers to Luke's conquest.
No one really eats, food pushed around their plates in an attempt to placate the worry of siblings who are doing the same thing, the quiet of the dining pavilion echos louder then any shrieks, of laughter or otherwise, ever have. Even the Hermes and Aphrodite tables sit in quiet, a fact which is still unnerving despite the circumstances.
The white of bandages can be seen on every camper, a bigger indicator of their demigod-hood than their bright orange shirts. He wonders how the Luke who had welcomed him to camp all those years ago would react to seeing this outcome to his 'great plan', pain and anger and sullen sadness thicker than the fog that rolls off the lake in the cold mornings, he wonders if it would have changed a thing.
He wonders if this camp, his home, will ever be the same.
