Summary
The group's excited chattering about how they were going to besiege Cazador's palace died down to a murmur when Tav guided Astarion toward Their tent with a hand on the small of his back. Most had assumed for weeks now that he and Tav had a sexual relationship of the wicked-vampire-seduces-naive-monk variety, but here was deliciously public confirmation of their suspicions.
"Stay with me tonight," Tav said under Their breath. Astarion made sure to tilt his head so it looked like Tav whispering sweet nothings to him. "I think you should keep out of any direct line of sight while there might be more hired thugs lurking about. And if we're in the same tent, I can protect you."
"I'd love to, darling."
"Do you need anything from your tent?"
"Not a thing. I've been dying to wear one of those sets of cozy pajamas you're always wandering around the camp in."
Tav smiled brilliantly. "What's mine is yours."
"Oh, I hope so."
Astarion hustled ahead and lifted the flap of Tav's tent with a gracious flourish to let the monk enter. Then he made deliberate eye contact with each of the judgmental glares aimed at him from across the campfire before stepping inside with a sassy roll of his hips. -

Summary
When the vampire spawn attack, they take Gale with them, all the way back to Cazador. Now its a race against time as it is clear that Cazador knows where they are, sending them little gifts made from Gale, and the ritual is drawing ever closer. But why would Gale want to be rescued by the same type of monster that's been torturing him? And how can Astarion embrace the feelings that he's had for Gale all this time?

Summary
“Why… I’m going to stab him of course.”
Minthara looked unimpressed - he could clearly picture the arch of her eyebrow beneath the mask in his mind’s eye.
“Of course,” she muttered, “I should have expected as much.”
“Well,” Astarion fumbled, “it’s simple, isn’t it? Cazador often selected victims from these parties, those who lingered on the sidelines or otherwise wouldn’t be missed – we wait for him to take the bait, we follow him – or whoever he sends to fetch his meal – and we stab him.”
-:-
The party tries to infiltrate a masquerade ball at Szarr Palace, unbeknownst to them on the very eve of the Rite of Profane Ascension. Things go sideways very quickly.

Summary
The sound that came from Astarion was completely animalistic as he tried to leap forward only to be held back by the gnolls restraining him. Kieran searched the chamber for their other party members, having lost track of them in the fight. They'd charged in here like fools, not once considering Cazador would have minions and monsters with him they'd have to contend with.
OR
The time had come, to take down Cazador Szarr and stop his Rite of Ascension once and for all. But they'd been beaten, badly. Now all Cazador cared about was destroying Astarion. And with his hand around Kieran's throat, he had all he needed to do exactly that.

Summary
Astarion returns and Cazador remembers.
His pillow hears it all and Vellioth doesn’t, he hopes. Maybe this would be the only acceptable prayer, provided he continues to worship at Vellioth’s feet, sleep at the foot of Vellioth’s bed, and try to win some scrap of favor from the Martinet.
He is up before Vellioth and Vellioth is up before the rest of the house. The buttons of Vellioth’s doublet are familiar under his hands. He counts each one as he fastens it, finishing with the button at the top. The collar just covers Vellioth’s own two pin prick scars.
“Do not slouch, boy.”
Cazador tries to straighten. His spine feels pulled taught already, ramrod straight and frozen, a startled deer under Vellioth’s gaze. He tries to stretch it further, towards the heavens he will never reach.
Vellioth does not seem satisfied.

Summary
Halsin was a relatively new addition to their camp, and Astarion wasn’t quite sure what to make of him. Of course, the druid certainly pretended to be kind, and helpful, and considerate, but surely that was just a little too good to be true. Astarion needed to keep his guard up, because it seemed that there were fresh things trying to kill them on a daily basis, even on top of the ever-present threat of ceremorphosis, and he still had Cazador to worry about. It was certainly no time to go soft.
Astarion negotiates the plot of Baldur's Gate 3 (and a little bit beyond), facing the standard trauma and tribulations, all while stubbornly trying to avoid falling in love with their resident druid.

Summary
We were so close to ending the waking nightmare Astarion had been living in and I would want for nothing when this was over. He would be free and soon enough I would be, too.
The adrenaline began to fade away and I felt the radiance of Eilistraee leaving my system, the remnants of the blast I'd channeled upon her intervention, I thought. I took deep breaths that hurt my ribs upon exhaling.
Despite the pain I didn't regret calling upon her for a moment. A hesitant flicker of hope began to burn bright deep within my corrupted mind. The battle was won and Astarion was going to be rid of Cazador forever.
For a moment it felt like the worst was over.
But only for a moment.

Summary
Gale stood hesitantly, just far enough from the door of Sharess’ Caress that his intended destination wasn’t obvious to any passers-by. He adjusted his robe unnecessarily, smoothing a non-existent crease from one purple sleeve. He was suddenly aware of his heart thumping rather loudly. It was a cool night, but he could feel his forehead tingling as though he were about to start sweating.
This was a mad idea. He could just turn around now and go back to his room at the Elfsong. Spend the evening reading. Alone. Again.

Summary
He reached for her hands and again brought them to his lips, her knuckles tender as her body quietly healed itself, he let his lips linger before speaking.
He thanked her again, told her that for a wretched moment he had forgotten all that she had proven to him. He looked up at her and asked if she would have hated him if he had chosen to complete the ritual, chosen to damn his soul and everyone else’s.

Sometimes love, and being loved, is enough. Not for everyone, but for Astarion and Tian Ai, it'll always be.

Summary
With a heave she's up and moving again, sprinting the rest of the way to the pointed outcrop Astarion is hovering above.
His nails are digging into his palms so harshly that blood, her blood made his, drips towards the floor before being sucked into the burning ray of raw magic between the markings on his back and its match engraved into the stone floor. It goes through him. She cannot imagine the agony.
And then she's blocking the connection and imagination is no longer necessary
