Summary
Asriel Thornton had not started her journey as a prisoner in The Woods, she hadn‘t been an innocent victim. After completing her medical studies, she had made a conscious decision to work for Vought and voluntarily signed the contract for The Woods. She had been aware that research was being done there on the Supes, but she had never guessed to what extent. And when she finally realised it, it was too late: she already had been part of the development of a deadly virus. A virus that was highly contagious and could kill any Supe, no matter how strong. Now she is desperately trying to put things right.
Sam Riordan had been trapped in The Woods for what seemed like an eternity and still carries permanent damage. The voices in his head seemed to have only gotten worse and the fact that he had lost his brother Luke gave him daily nightmares. He hated Vought and everything to do with it. But his hatred was spreading and by now he had trouble not seeing every regular human as an enemy. He felt better than them, superior. It terrified Sam, he never wanted to lose himself in all this hate and revenge, but he just couldn’t help it. Is there any way back now?
