Summary
“So, let me get this straight. You’re losing sleep over an animal who has outsmarted you—multiple times, by the sound of it—and now you’re pretending to like her so your boyfriend won’t notice?”
“Exactly,” he mourned. “And don’t you dare laugh. This is serious.”
“Eddie,” Hen articulated, not sounding the least bit compassionate, “you’re telling me you’ve survived a sniper’s bullet, participated in an underground fighting ring, and made it a habit to run into burning buildings every day for the past few years… and you’re losing to an ten-pound furball?”
“She’s not just a furball,” he grumbled. “She’s a devious mastermind. I’m convinced she’s going to kill me in my sleep.”

Summary
The kitten froze, small body shaking for a moment, and then darted back into the shelter of the pallet.
“Shit,” Buck cursed. He crouched lower, fitting his broad shoulders into the small ‘A’ shape that the kitten had disappeared into. Dumpster juices be damned, he was not leaving that baby abandoned in the alley. “Wait, hold on.”
He pulled his phone from his pocket and turned on the flashlight on its dimmest setting. A chorus of meows rang up at him. “Shit,” he whispered again. There was no way he was going to make that card game.
A.K.A. Buck becomes a not-so-single dad of six and Eddie doesn't know how to deal with this weird feeling in his chest.

Summary
“What the hell is that, Buck.” He hisses, watching as Buck's eyes snap up towards him. His mouth pursed open as he holds a kitten in his arms. Eddies sighs and rubs his temples. Hopefully it was another hoover situation and someone from the one-eighteen picked up an animal on call and couldn't keep it.
“I uh-she was on the side of the road?” Buck shrugs. stands there, calmly, not a worry in the world for any diseases he may have brought into their house because he has too big of a heart to not pick up random animals on the side of the roads. “She was lonely, okay?”
Or: Buck gets a cat, Eddie gets jealous, The cat’s name is Marie, and catastrophic events occur.

Summary
There was a cat on Buck's couch.
That statement alone wouldn't normally be odd, because, really, what was wrong with finding an adorable animal curled up on your pillow, blinking up at you with big, brown eyes? Cats weren't exactly a rarity in the city of Los Angeles.
Only that Buck's landlord didn't allow pets in the building. And Buck didn't have a cat.

Or, Buck keeps getting visits from a cat while simultaneously falling in love with his new neighbor that, oh so coincidentally, also owns a cat.Series

Summary
Until Buck calls all of them up to the loft, his eyes sunken in, skin paler than usual and he thinks this is it, Bucks going to leave all of them.
"Why'd you call us up here?" Chimney is the first to ask, but a few agreeing voices echo his.
"I wanted to tell you all," Buck pulled out his phone scrolling through before turning it to the rest of them. "I got a kitten!" he shouts excitedly.
Sure enough, on the screen is a gray tabby with a little heart-shaped patch of fur on his chest with matching white socks. It may as well be the cutest thing ever with the way it's lying on its back, paws curled up to its chest.
Hen and Chimney immediately start asking to see more pictures (which Buck happily supplies) while Eddie's more concerned about the fact that he's wearing long sleeves.
It wasn't weird for him to do so when it got colder out, but it was summer.
Or
Buck gets a new kitten and Eddie's sure that the cuts on his wrists are too deep and neat to come from the feline.

Summary
“You love her,” Buck says quietly as the cat darts back into the kitchen, rubbing herself against Eddie’s legs. And yeah, he does. She grew on him really quickly and sleeps in his bed every night, usually curled up next to Eddie’s head.
“Yeah, yeah. You made the right call,” Eddie acquiesces with a fond eye-roll. Buck grins delightedly, practically bouncing over to Eddie to pull him into a hug. Eddie makes a surprised ‘oof’ as Buck squeezes him tight, ducking his head down.
“Thank-you,” he murmurs, his voice muffled by Eddie’s shoulder. “For indulging me.”

Summary
Eddie’s faint snoring has stopped as Buck slides underneath the covers and beside him, snorting a little as he wakes up. He’s blurry with bleary eyes as he turns to look at Buck, a sleepy little smile curling on his lips, eyes still fluttering and struggling to stay awake yet still squinting at Buck’s fuzzy form. He blinks once, twice before he’s yawning at Buck, who’s currently pulling the covers up and past his chest and to his neck, kicking the lower half of their thick blanket down so it covers Eddie’s ice-cold feet.
“Hi,” Eddie blink’s again, slowly at him, like a cat’s silent declaration of love to its owner. Their cat, Winnie, does that every time Buck slowly tickles under her chin with his pointer finger, or if he pets and strokes her cute little head and smooths down the ruffled fur of her stripes.
Buck squeezes Eddie’s hip as he rests his hand on his side, smiling right back at him in the darkness of their room, amber light still dim behind his head, slightly cascading over the slope of Eddie’s nose and his cheeks and his whiskery stubble.
Or: Buck comes home to his husband after a shift.
