Summary
The stars seem cold and unattainably distant to ordinary people. People who have studied the stars at least a little know that they are by no means cold, they are hotter than anything. They are burning. But they still remain unattainably distant.
The House of Black is like the stars. The House of Black is proud, ambitious, and loaded. The House of Black rises when the sun sets. But naming a child after a star means condemning them to its' fate. A small price to pay for the greatness of the firmament, isn't it?
The only thing that can tear down the House of Black is itself after all.
Or: the stories of the "Faded" generation of the House of Black, from Arcturus III birth till his reign as the last Lord Black. From 1901 to 1961.
