Ever since Rory had insisted that Lucifer and Chloe had needed to separate in order for their daughter to grow up as the time-traveling angel who would reveal to Lucifer his ultimate purpose in hell, they had pined for each other… and though Lucifer experienced years for every month Chloe experienced, her pain was not less than his. And it was all based on a lie anyway. Michael’s daughter Roravindha had pretended to be Aurora Morningstar in order to isolate Chloe and Trixie from Lucifer, sabotaging their bid for happiness, and causing Lucifer to refuse godhood. Unknowing of the lie, they lived on the edge of a volcano, ignorant of all but their pain and isolation.
The plot only came to light by cruel fate, after Chloe had given birth to her own child, Aurora… who died only weeks after being born. That shattering fact ultimately exploded the lie that began the devastation of Chloe’s life, a devastation begun by Lucifer’s forced abandonment of Chloe at the false Rory’s extorted promise. The true Aurora’s soul’s ascent to heaven, small comfort though her destination was, helped begin the erosion of the lie. Sadly, the months between Lucifer’s departure from the streetcorner of Swanson and Tenth that Chloe experienced...

Summary
There's a lot of things wrong with authority. The biggest? They've got too much power, and challenging them is like an angel and a demon trying to challenge God. This would be a random and completely unrelated scenario if this wasn't exactly what those two had tried to do.
Being untrusting in the guy you're supposed to worship was fairly hard, and Uriel, an angel, was facing that exact problem. He finds himself meeting a demon who offers to help him, and the two of them venture out, and learn things that would dethrone God and change the entirety of Heaven and Hell as they know it. Except they weren't strong or influential enough to convince angels to turn against god, but the four archangels could. Except no one would believe Lucifer, who was locked in hell, or Gabriel and Raphael, because they had been missing for centuries, or Michael, because he was dead.
But maybe there was a lot more then what they had been told.
