Finally, the Middle Eastern woman responds, in her own language.
“You have changed too, Maria.”
Ōsawa switches from excited Nihongo to formal Arabic, asking the synesthete, “Oh, you mean my hair? Well, I know I’ve always been blonde whenever I’m with you but that’s because of dye. My hair’s actually black, and I thought I’d look more professional if I stopped bleaching my hair for a while…”
Canaan shakes her head.
“No—I meant your breasts are bigger.”
Maria blinks once before pouting and picking up the pillow next to them to throw it at the hitman’s face.
“Canaan, you pervert!”
(Or, a take on how it might go if Canaan and Maria were to reunite five years after the events of the anime, because they were definitely gay for each other. Plot-focused story with some smut. Fluff. Post-Canon. A little bit of drama but not angst. For fan_flashwork's Challenge #420: Shine.)
