Summary
“Fine, fine,” Gabe says nervously. “Let’s get this meeting started, then.” He clears his throat. “We’ve all been noticing our teammates’... situation, let’s say.”
Devon snorts.
“All of us here are close friends with the two of them, or have been impacted by their annoying behavior,” Gabe continues.
“You can say that again,” Jo mutters under his breath.
“So we need to come up with a plan to get them to stop dancing around each other,” Gabe concludes. “But I have no idea what else to do. I’ve tried everything. I sent them on romantic dinners. I got them to take a yoga class together, and the only thing that accomplished was them being annoyingly stretchy and going to yoga regularly. I even gifted them a helicopter tour of the mountains together thinking it would be a nice romantic adventure and nothing happened. I need your help.”
“Can’t we just talk to them about it?” Sammy asks.
Mikko chimes in. “I tried that, and Nate just laughed at me for a long time and then left the locker room.”
“I tried it too,” Josh says. “Cale just gave me a weird look.”
“But they would be so good together,” Ross says. “I don’t understand why they won’t listen to us. It’s ridiculous.”

Summary
The thing about soulmates is, you don’t choose them. Oh yes, of course, there’s always to be made the argument that you don’t choose who you fall in love with, having a soulmate is a different thing entirely. They’re not always romantic, sometimes familial or platonic. But the fact remains that they’re assigned, somewhere somehow by someone or something. Mostly, if you’re one of the lucky few to have them, you’re born with your soul mark, whatever it may be. And there’s been cases, here and there, of soul marks abruptly surfacing although most of those cases were con jobs but not all. Or, as Jared’s best friend once told Jared and then later told Cale: you get what you get and you figure out the rest.

"I’ll stop bothering you,” Sid says. “I can put the block back up and we can forget this ever happened.”
Put the block back up? Every small bit of hope Nate had felt since Sid opened his door disappears in an instant. Of course Sid doesn’t actually want Nate, he just wants to make sure Nate is fucked up enough that no one else can have him either.
“Right,” Nate says coldly. “Just block me permanently again. Forget I exist. That’s been working great for the last two years.”
-------------
Nate and Sid used to be soulbonded, but Sid broke the bond two years ago... or so Nate thought.

Summary
He hears the door opening once again. Nate loves Cale, he really does, but if he could just leave him the fuck alone, that would be great.
“I mean this in the nicest way possible, Cale. But could you please just fucking leave me alone?” Nate knows he sounds annoyed but at least he made an effort to not sound mean on top of it.
“Uhm..”
Nate’s thoughts screech to a halt. This is not Cale’s voice. Nate would know this voice everywhere.Or: as the tags say: Sid's the best not-yet-boyfriend ever

Summary
If you asked Jo, being on a team with Nate again felt like he was taking a shot of straight caffeine every time they were on the ice together. It wasn't as simple as that off the ice though, what with Jo being here as Nate's rut partner and the friendship they were trying to maintain.

Summary
Jo paces around the kitchen, watched closely by his dog. He’s muttering under his breath every so often, and Mallow seems vaguely interested. Mallow is still laying down, of course, always lazy, but his head is perked up as if curious whether Jo’s mood is one that will lead to a trip to the dog park. Mallow loves the dog park. Jo notices Mallow’s gaze and sighs, shaking his head.
“Not today, buddy,” he says softly. Mallow whines, making Jo even more disappointed in himself - he can’t even make his own dog happy. “The thing is,” he says aloud, sort of directed at Mallow but mostly directed toward himself, “there’s other things in Colorado, you know? Denver is a big city. Well, it’s a city, I don’t think it’s that big. Anyway, there’s more to it than just Nate.”
Mallow cocks his head at Jo. Jo didn’t say the word ‘park’ or anything close to it, which is the only word Mallow really cares about aside from ‘treat’ and ‘walk’.

Robby woke up feeling different and unable to put his finger on why until he shifted and realized very quickly that something was missing.
Mitch was zero help with his “Lay back and enjoy it and eventually you’ll find your soulmate”. He enjoyed fucking his way to Connor way too much.
Jaden was much more helpful with his “Call the first person who comes to mind. My first thought was Vladi, but I still slept with Steener, three Blackhawks, and an Av before Vladi.”

Summary
Quinn tries his best to appear happy, or happy enough that no one questions him. It’s not like he’s sad, exactly - he’s overjoyed for his brother to be drafted and so proud of him for going fourth overall. Just like he was beside himself when Jack went first overall.
The issue is… well, the issue is complicated. It’s mostly jealousy, mixed with a heaping scoop of loneliness and a sprinkle of insecurity. Jealous that his brothers will get to play together, lonely because they’ll be together without him, and insecure because - well, first and fourth overall. Not seventh.
So he pastes a smile on his face and knows that no one will look deeper because no one ever does look deeper at him. Even if he wasn’t smiling, they’d probably just think it was normal, because Quinn being serious or unhappy is normal. Jack’s the one with boundless energy and enthusiasm, and he’s certainly showing that now, and Luke takes after Jack more than Quinn, though a bit more toned down than Jack’s golden retriever demeanor. He’s practiced at putting up a facade, pretending things don’t matter to him when they actually do, setting aside his own wants and needs for his brothers’.

Summary
During the season, days of the week don’t matter. There aren’t weekdays and weekends, and there’s no point in complaining about Mondays. There are game days and non-game days. That’s it. Some might count travel days as a separate category, but honestly, when they’re on the road, travel and game days frequently happen together. The only distinction that has ever mattered to Nate is whether he’s going to be playing a real game or just practicing and working out.
He’s learned that, over the summer, he needs to keep track of real days to some extent. He can’t call his sister to see if she wants to have lunch on a Thursday, because she’ll just remind him that she has a full-time job. He can’t show up at his favorite restaurant on a Monday, because it’s closed on Mondays. He can’t call Jo on Friday, because he called Jo on Wednesday, and he promised himself he would put at least three days between calls.
