She's worried—mirrors reflecting things slightly wrong, her eyes covered with cat-eye glasses, long black claws tap tap tapping on the dining room table as she waits for their errant child—that something else has left the Sintra home. She can smell sulfur, ash, cigarettes. She can taste tea, Devil's Blood, bile.
His suit looks different. The coat is gone, the pants held up with suspenders. Black leather gloves cover his hands. His briefcase is a blood-red leather, clasped with mellow gold. The tie he's wearing is a crimson waterfall, his throat slit and spilling his life down his chest.
On his face is an emotionless devil mask, the horns gently curving back. From behind the eye-holes, his brown eyes almost look like blood, cast in shadow like they are.
It's Brian but not Brian.
Kate draws just short of touching him on the shoulder.

Le jeune homme était heureux de voir que Tiki-Taka remarchait, et plus encore il semblait bien s'entendre avec ses amis, ce qui ne pouvait que rendre Brian heureux. Quand il avait fait part de ses craintes que Tiki-Taka se sente mal de ne rien pouvoir afficher d'autre sur son écran que la vue de ses caméras, quelque chose s'était allumé dans les yeux de Doshi. Sans doute l'appel du défi. Ou bien le plaisir de rendre Brian heureux.
