Summary
Branch was never considered normal by most in the village. There were only a few who didn’t see him as the ‘Grey Freak’ that would just run around and yell about the Bergans. And those few were ones that Branch cherished most in the world. He didn’t need parties, he didn’t need dances, he didn’t need Princess Poppy’s constant insistence of including him in whatever she had going on. And he most certainly didn’t need to be her friend. While Branch does wish for a few more select people to be in his life, he is certain that he is content with those he does have.
Problem is…
Someone doesn’t like that.
Someone doesn’t like that Branch has people to depend on.
Someone doesn’t like that Branch has people who actually love him just the way he is.
Someone wants Branch all to themselves. And they’re willing to do whatever it takes to get him.

Summary
The 20-year freedom from the Bergans may not have attracted a chef, but it did attract another species that has a use for the trolls. Luckily, All the villagers were not captured, but these new monsters have taken over the village and left the trolls homeless. Having questions on how they're going to survive for the first time in years and having nowhere else to go the villagers are forced to turn to their residential grump for aid and shelter. Now they are living in Branch's bunker learning about the grey troll and how he's not how they thought he was.
