5 years after the Area Zero Incident:
Champion Nemona is moving in with her girlfriend, Penny. The two of them are just beginning to settle into their jobs at the Paldean League, and each are honing a unique skill that takes advantage of the Terastal phenomenon. Nemona is struggling with familial politics as she tries to distance herself from her born privilege and work out what she wants in the long term; meanwhile, Penny tiptoes around a stressed League's increasing irritability as she pursues her own personal goals. Tension between Nemona and her Rival over the years has solidified into an awkward freeze on their friendship, while Arven keeps trying to hold the group together in spite of the difficulty.
An increase in rampaging Titan and Tera Pokémon is causing unrest. When infamous Champion and freelancer Scarlet Koito gets an emergency call to assist the League with a mysterious request, the lives of Nemona, Penny, Scarlet, and Arven are unexpectedly thrown for dangerous loop during a rescue operation.
Despite the lives they've been building for themselves, the Great Crater is calling to them again... and it isn't going to take 'no' for an answer.
