Summary
After losing her partner and an eight-month-long leave of absence, Agent Caitlyn Kiramman sets out on her new assignment in Zaun. She must dismantle Shimmer and bring down Silco, the kingpin of the Undercity. Navigating her current solo mission proves difficult when her previous injuries and painful memories rear their ugly head. It also doesn't help that she has fallen for an ex-con bartender with pink hair, piercings, and tattoos all over her back.

“Really? Is that what people are saying?” Caitlyn says, a playfully suspicious look on her face. She looks… incredibly attractive, in ownership of her craft and intellect. It makes Vi’s skin buzz and her heart beat a little faster.
Vi shrugs as if that’ll dispel the effect Caitlyn has on her. “Yeah, it takes a true genius to come up with stuff on your own.”
“Well, you are very smart and your essay was well-written, but even the most well-renowned scientists have to cite the studies they build upon.”
Caitlyn’s glass is empty, so Vi gets to work on preparing another drink to give her hands something to do. “That rule applies to, like, STEM classes. Rules in the humanities are malleable and shit. Meant to be broken.”
“Rules are rules, Vi. We can bend them all we want, but we can’t quite break them.”

Piltover University's Non-Traditional Students Initiative means Vi and her little sister have been able to study at the prestigious school for a few years now. She's focused on her studies, part-time job, and hobbies—an uncomplicated life. But then she meets Caitlyn Kiramman, her professor for her Feminist Literature class, and things suddenly aren't so simple anymore.

Vi huffed and shook her head softly, a tired smile tugging at her lips “And if you were everything they wanted?”
Caitlyn looked over then, meeting Vi’s gaze “Don’t think the chance of that are very high but if you find them, let me know”.While both Caitlyn and Vi seem perfectly put together on the surface they both feel pretty lost underneath. An unlikely friendship brings them together and sends them on a journey to trying to figure out who they are and what they want to be happy.
