But whatever tranquility he was aiming to achieve is quickly lost when a mysterious figure starts hunting him down with the help of mercenaries and payed assassins. Now Bart will have to balance his new normal life with superheroing and being protected by friends and family.

Summary
The winding patterns of prey were a constant feature in Bart’s mind. Dozens to hundreds of little fishes that banded together and adapted, swarming in complex figures at the slightest change in the current. The glint of scales, blue to silver to black and back again and again; synchronicity elevating graceful twists that looped and curled in intricate designs.
When predators approached they coalesced with great arching swirls, their combined form stretching then condensing to appear large in the face of danger.
It was survival.
It was enthralling.

Summary
No one had touched Bart Allen until he was twelve years old. Well- that wasn’t quite true. His mother had touched him, surely, and it made sense that the Dominators had since they had kidnapped him. The lab technicians had definitely touched him in the process of hooking him into the machines. But that was so long ago, and he couldn’t remember any of it. Maybe none of it was even real.
The first few moments of Bart’s rebirth were cold. The wires dropped from his head, un-inserting themselves like limp spaghetti noodles. The blinding white of the Earthgov lab blared suddenly across his vision, replacing the green countryside he’d been in just seconds before. Bart had crumpled, a marionette without his strings, curling in on himself on the floor of the tank.

Bart grumbled as Max dragged him along the path. He ignored his clammy skin while he pulled his goggles off. The headache behind his eyes was just from them, obviously. No other reason. “You know I run hot! You said it was a speedster thing!”
“Running a couple of degrees warmer is normal for speedsters,” Max agreed. “Running almost ten degrees warmer is not. I’m surprised you’re even able to have this conversation with me at all.”

Wherever Tim goes, he manages to be followed by two of the loudest, clumsiest shadows in the world. He doesn't even know when it started. If he thinks back far enough he supposes the first time he had seen Bart had been a month ago. Maybe a little longer.

Summary
Bart didn't know what he did to deserve this, because surely forcing a speedster to travel 1,000 miles the long way in a moving truck was nothing short of cruel and unusual punishment. Meanwhile Max struggles to keep the peace, and keep Bart inside the truck as he mentally prepares himself for an uncertain future between them. Bart Allen, fresh from VR, certainly always keeps him guessing.
Highlights include a guest appearance from Lobo, an emotional traffic jam, and crimes involving a Jukebox.
