Basically, I am rewatching the original Castlevania cartoon now that the sequel is out and I want to die cause like my boy Alucard deserves better. Lots deserved better, and I will be punishing those who caused the harm. This is a written version of me hugging these characters and yelling, "Be happy goddammit!" Just know my upload schedule will be out of wack so don't expect consistency. I'll be like a bad friend, dump my trauma and vent, then dip for months on end. Sorry in advance *kissy face while holding up peace sign*.
While Vlad can pretend that he doesn't still hold love for the long past Leon Belmont, hearing rumours that the church has ordered the massacre of the Belmont family sends him into a rage, leading him to become a constant presence in young Trevor Belmont's life. Acting as a mentor by night and disappearing in the morning causes Trevor to become familiar with the Tepes family. He just so happens to be in town, and mostly sober, when Lisa is being tried for witchcraft. Saving her prevents Dracula's descent into madness, but it doesn't stop a few other vampires from wanting to rise up, overthrow Dracula, and turn Wallachia into their own cow pen. Maybe a certain Speaker can help...

In Harry's very honest opinion, the town stinks worse than a mountain troll's sweaty armpit and the heretical hypocrisy of the local church clergy. And the less Harry thinks about the... Public execution square with its ten-foot-high stone platform and burning pole, the better for the continuity of this fucking place.
The whole thing reminds him of the Magic Enclave of England even more so because the people of Gresit are just as bad as the good wizarding people of Harry's home world.
And then Trevor takes him to where the Speakers are barricaded, and the Elder tells them the prophecy.
A hunter and a scholar will awaken the Sleeping Soldier.
He must have known there was a damn prophecy waiting for him somewhere, damn it.
This better be worth it and Harry doesn't end up dying again, or else he and Death will have words.

Over ten thousand years in the future, his second son, D, finally finds the technology, magic and knowledge needed to correct a desperate mistake. The Noble Ancestor was not always a good man. It took finding the love of his life, again, to become the Vampire Lawgiver. But that was after his getting dragged back to life, unwilling, brought about the apocalyptic hell that his son now lives in, along with the desperate remnants of humanity.
D loved humanity with his whole heart. He loved his father with only half. And he loved himself not at all. Choosing to go back and join the Trio who first killed his father, including the older brother he had never met, was a simple choice.
It mattered to him not at all that success would mean writing himself out of history.
