“About that…” She laughs again, nervously toying with a strand of her hair, other hand resting on her hips. “Wukong already showed up to cheer him up. They went out for ice cream already. He’s not here anymore.”
“Oh.” Macaque mumbles, slightly disappointed, but mostly wondering what ice cream shop was still open at this hour.
Before he can say anything else, Mei grabs his hand, holding it between both of hers.
Macaque, as a demon, is a bit larger than most humans. Most people see it as just a height thing, but the girl holding his hand makes it obvious how much bigger he actually is.
“Tell you what!” She smiles, laughing nervously. “How about I give you a tour of the place? You’ve already come all this way, showing you around is the least I could do.” She tilts her head, blinking twice.
