"Did you find him? Did you carry him to his hut in your arms, did you nurse him back to health, did you sit vigil by his bedside, as he has done for you? Or did you leave him to lie alone on the forest floor, betrayed and friendless?"
So asks Caius Insidius in Asterix and the Dream Whisperer. He brings up these things that have happened over the years and twists them to make Obelix seem like a selfish, uncaring brute, only a fair-weather friend, to the point that Obelix decides to leave the village, believing that he'd be protecting Asterix from himself.
Of course, Obelix couldn't have known what happened to Asterix that day. He came back looking quite unharmed, so Obelix never had a reason to ask, and Asterix didn't feel the need to tell him.
But what if Asterix couldn't come back unharmed? What if Obelix found him? And what buried doubts would it bring to the surface?

Plays during the second half of and after the 4th live action movie: God save britania.
Another what if this would not just be a silly comedy. I know the title is way to long, so sorry.Or: Asterix pushes through till the end of the adventure as usual, but Obelix and Getafix are used to it by now. All while Obelix feels guilty about (accidentally) dropping his best friend on burning coals. And maybe Asterix feels a bit betrayed by Obelix falling in love all over again. And most things go the same, but a few things also go a tiny bit different (Physical and emotional whump that started writing itself without my intake like halfway in.)
(Bit of a rewrite of the second half of the movie. I'll put some context into the notes for anyone that doesn't remember that movie or maybe didn't watch it for why Asterix got injured.)

Julius Caesar was pissed. Y/n had entered Gaul territory and not JUST ANY Gaul territory. She had found her way into THE village. The one that had avoided the mighty grasps of his empire time and time again. How was he supposed to get her back to Rome now?
Y/n was finally free... At least as free as one can be running from the Roman Empire. Luckily she got the help of a Gaul village and one moustached warrior in particular had caught her eye.
