Summary
From beyond the Void, an anguishing cry is heard by the Fëanturi; a sound that was not foretold in Eru Ilúvatar’s Themes. The Judger, Námo, elects to send the Valar’s emissary, Glorfindel, to find the source of the cry and understand the danger it sings – and perhaps find a way to prevent its suffering – for all of Eä. However, where Glorfindel lands is unlike any vision Irmo has ever given him, and he must learn to survive in an openly hostile world about which he knows nothing. His only hope to complete the Valar’s charge lies in the two figures that find him freezing to death in what he would come to learn is the northern Tamriellic province of Skyrim.

Éowyn Earl is the star horn player in her year, simultaneously wrestling with the demons of her past, struggling with her current crush on violinist Aragorn Walker, and wondering what to do about the hideous professor Wykeham King who is making everyone’s lives miserable. Meanwhile, in the background, gradually coming into focus, is a very talented pianist, one Faramir Hurin.
A journey through healing, redemption - and a bit of revenge. Plus a very slow burn relationship, that eventually turns very hot.
Inspired by ElrondScribe's brilliant Silmarallion music school AU.
No resemblance to any actual musicians intended, considerable liberties with my representation of the RNCM. Indeterminate time-frame: a bit like the Manchester of my teens (and its often unfortunate social attitudes); in other respects more up-to-date. The Mancunian rain is entirely accurate, however, and I make no apology for that.

Arathiel. Sister to Elrond and elf of Rivendell. Daughter of an Elven mother and Half-Elven father, Arathiel has been battling her mortal and immortal nature for her entire life. She has walked Middle-Earth for centuries. From before the creation of Mordor and the rise of Sauron. Arathiel watched it happen. She watched as The Ring was forged and she swore an Oath to destroy it.
Now, after years of being lost in time, The Ring has been found and the Fellowship to destroy it has been tasked. Her one and true purpose on Middle-Earth has shown itself and so she can finally finish what it was she set out to do, but nothing is as easy as that. Arathiel knows this more than most.
She has never loved in her life. No love more than that she felt for her brother or own kind. That familial love that didn't fade. She feared to fall so deeply for someone. She had seen heartbreak and she had seen loss, and yet, perhaps love isn't what she fears, but rather who it is her heart softens for. Who, in her thousands of years, breaks that wall of ice.

Inspired by the fact I can't find a Tolkien/Hobbit/Lord of the Rings Advent Calendar, so I decided to write one and hope it will bring you some Christmas cheer.
Each day will feature a new story, a new pairing, all set in Middle Earth but possibly all over the timeline. And so, tags will get updated each day. To avoid a wall of tags, I'll only tag the main characters and the essential elements in the story.

Summary
The story starts in Rivendell, where Legolas arrives — not to be one of the Nine Companions, but because his life is at stake.
Legolas Greenleaf, born and raised as a warrior in Elvenking's courts and destined to lead his father's armies, has worked instead as his father's ambassador and lived an active and full life after the grievous accident that ended his promising career. During the last months, his symptoms that have been absent for over two centuries, start to emerge again, and Thranduil sends his only son to see Elrond if the healer could find a reason for the Prince's deteriorating health.
At the same time, the world is changing and the powers of evil gathering, far from the elven realms, but not too far to force them to get ready to take their side in what's coming.
First story of my mini series written for Whumptober 2024.

Panic coiled in Rhosynel’s chest, as two things became apparent. Firstly, that she could easily end up roped into travelling further on the whims of a wizard. And secondly, that if word reached her employer that she point-blank refused Lord Elrond, she’d be kicked from the Messenger services.
In other words, Rhosynel was trapped.*
Working as a messenger Rhosynel is accustomed to travelling the length and breadth of Middle Earth, so carrying a missive to the village of Bree should have been easy. But this simple task sets off a chain of events, entangling her in the lives of strangers and the fate of Middle Earth. And leaves her fighting to keep both them, and herself, alive.

This is the story of a world in which a wounded Celebrían refuses to sail after her capture, and confined to The Old Forest, learns to make the earth move and flowers grow beneath her fingers. It is also a love story.
