"I'm sorry," he whispered, reaching out to cup the pale green of Artemis's boon in his hand. "Lady Aphrodite." His woodsy cousin, of course, had been thrilled to be chosen; Aphrodite had been much less happy.
"I told you not to cross me," she said, her eyes flashing in anger, "and now you have, young Zagreus. You will come to ruin yet."
