Years ago, Obi-Wan fell into a deep bout of depression. Struggling to look after both himself and his new Padawan, he began a terrible habit. After fighting tooth and nail behand a mask of humour and sarcasm, he managed to climb out of this hole. Unfortunately, he can never truly escape the pains of his past, and some battles cannot be won - even by a decorated Republic General.

After what was deemed a tragic accident at the Jedi Temple, some terrible secrets are revealed about Obi-Wan's past. While the Jedi Master is recovering from his injuries, his old Padawan is left to ruminate and wonder how oblivious he could have been to miss such obvious signs of distress from the man he considered family.
Hopefully Luke and Leia, the two little lights of Obi-Wan's life can bring him some joy. And maybe one day, Obi-Wan will be okay.

Summary
As we all know, Ahsoka lied to gain her way onto the Citadel mission. Anakin and Obi-Wan dropped the subject during the mission since they knew they could do nothing about her at the present time. Once the mission team returned to the temple, Ahsoka started feeling guilty as both Anakin and Obi-Wan were unconvinced by Master Plo’s statement that he gave his ok for Ahsoka to join the team. Ahsoka ends up admitting the fact that she lied to gain passage on the mission, went against Master Plo’s explicit orders, and obviously Anakin’s orders to stay in the temple.

The next moment, Anakin was standing at the head of the room, his puffing breaths slowing gradually and his back straightening. The Tusken Raiders had vanished and the red had seeped out of his vision. Pirates littered the floor. Anakin neither knew nor cared if they were alive or dead.
And in the middle of it all lay Ahsoka, curled and shaking with her hands bound behind her and her back facing him. Anakin’s heart dropped.

Anakin’s hand is shaking – he doesn’t know when that started, but he can’t seem to make it stop. “Do you really think that I wanted Ahsoka to be expelled from the Order? For even a moment? Of course I didn’t, but my hands were tied.”
Intellectually, Anakin knows that – he’s seen enough sorrow and bloodshed and injustice to know how this works – but that’s not enough this time. In truth, it’s probably never been enough for him. Because, despite what the Code and his master tried so hard to teach him, knowing will never take precedence over feeling.
