Regulus thought after what happened when Sirius came out, his mother would have reacted differently when it was his turn to make the confession. That she wouldn’t lose both sons. But he was wrong.
That’s how he finds himself waiting to be picked-up by the brother he hasn’t seen in 3 years. Ready to crash on his couch in the small city of Berkeley, California.
Sirius’ roommates are a far cry from his London friends. There’s his boyfriend, Remus. A graduate student who plays albums that sound more like noise than melody. Peter, who’s quiet and kind and brings everyone coffee and bagels from his job. And James, who seems intent on ignoring Regulus’ presence completely, even when Regulus gets a job beside him at their local record shop.
Or, James Potter was doing his best not to defile his roommate's younger brother because Sirius told him to “keep his slutty hands off of Regulus or else," but finds himself unable to keep the promise.

Why did he decide on dental school again? He was fairly certain he had asked himself that question about a billion times in the last 15 seconds alone.

Regulus was never sure if he really had a brother but news gets back to him that Sirius Black has just signed a deal to produce an album for one of the biggest names in American music.
Remus was in bed when he was left alone, all he got was a note and a number, though he wasn't sure if he was going to text/call him.
James has been searching for his best friend's brother for close to a decade now to no avail, though when Regulus Black drops an album that goes viral he reaches out.
Nothing goes right till it does.

Summary

Which would be all fine and dandy if it wasn't for the multi-talented crew member, James, aka her son. He struggles with the troubles of being a struggling artist, trying not to fall in love with the son of his boss, and reconnecting with his brother after four years.
James is doing everything in his best efforts to make one of those difficult.

When Sirius faces deportation for an expired visa, he convinces Remus into marrying him so he can stay in the U.S... Remus just wants his manuscript published.
(I based this fic off of the movie 'The Proposal' starring Sandra Bullock & Ryan Reynolds which I highly, highly recommend if you haven't seen it.)
