(told from seiji's point-of-view.) the world is cruel, seiji understands that as he lives in that type of environment. but how his eyes reflect his passion and understanding of how life is when she came into his life. as colours swirled around his vision, as the lens of his soul started to blur, his tears fell as he realized what life was now that he had shizuku with him.
this is an introductory to a sequel I'm planning to write for whisper of the heart, named "from tokyo to cremona." spoiler: its very different from what you'll imagine the ending for the adulthood of seiji and shizuku.

Seiji Amasawa has always been quiet; always been determined. Now, though, there’s something a little grievous about both. He goes to the antiques store as much to see Shizuku as to keep his practice up, because he knows she needs those evenings, when he carves and she reads or studies and whichever one of them feels like it more does most of the talking.
It’s normally her; she and her sister are fighting, school is full of rumours, and the grief is still fresh. But he loves her and she knows it and loves him for it, too, and no matter how she feels he’ll down tools in a moment if she wants to be held. If she wants to hold something.
The thing about Seiji Amasawa is that when he wants something, he won't let anything stop him from achieving it; when a fire destroys her apartment and her life with it, four months from her fifteenth birthday, all he wants is for Shizuku to be okay.
