Summary
Futaba Sakura and Yusuke Kitagawa think their forced trip to Inaba to participate in a school event is going to be normal, especially since they're visiting their friend Ren Amamiya in his home town about a year after he got caught by the police doing Phantom Thieves business. However, that thought quickly gets squashed once one of Ren's childhood friends awakens to a Persona of her own. It also doesn't help that a second group of Persona users surfaces during this time, all of them much older and much more experienced than the three Phantom Thieves present. This launches an impromptu in person Phantom Thieves reunion to figure out why they can summon their Personas once again and where this group of Persona users came from, all while Futaba slowly realizes that maybe the feelings she has for the dorky artist she's know for a year aren't as platonic as she thinks they are.

Sumire falls unconscious, and Maruki holds her carefully in a bridal carry. "Please don't judge her." He tells him, and Ren is unable to move a muscle. "People deal differently with different trauma, and this is what's best for Yoshizawa-san." A pause. "You know, despite you standing against me, you aren't excluded from the people I wish to save... won't you accept my reality for your own happiness, as well as hers? Or we could make a deal," he offers. "You have dreams, don't you? I can make them true if you join us."
Ren blinks, more worried with the unconscious Sumire than whatever the palace ruler was saying. "...no. Dr. Maruki, don't you see that this isn't the way to go about things like this?"
Maruki sighs. "...I really didn't want it to come to this, but I guess you won't back down without a fight after all. I'm against it, but, well, needs and ends and all that."

Summary
Basically kicked out of his house, moved in with a stranger, and now on probabtion for a year, Ren Amamiya changes.
His desires are so strong, and yet he couldn't follow fate as they had wanted. A story in which Ren doesn't go into Kamoshida's castle, but more like he accidentally pushed himself out of the castle, and is unaware of its existence. Ren is a model student, but eats alone in a janitors closet with his teacher. Ren is obsessed with the mental shutdowns, but won't help anyone unless he thinks its his problem.
And Ren thinks hes just crazy, refusing to believe reality is the truth.

And it almost is, until he realizes he goes to school with the girl that he couldn't save.
