Summary
To get over the early morning hours and to find some distraction from his duties, Dracule Mihawk, retired swordfighter and father to an adoptive son, signs up for a trial account for the new online-multiplayer game Grand Line Adventures, set in a world filled with pirates, marines and monsters in the intend to become the best swordfighter once more. He keeps to himself, rising up the ranks, when another player going by the name of Akagami comes to bother him.
Meanwhile, his son Zoro finally makes a friend at school, asking to go over for a visit. That's how Mihawk meets the other boy's father, an attractive, cheerful red-head named Shanks, who he wouldn't mind seeing more of.He has no way of knowing how the virtual and real world overlap.

But even as his heart raced and his palms grew slick with sweat, he knew he had a mission now - a purpose that would drive him forward despite the overwhelming dread. With a deep breath, he steeled himself for what lay ahead, determined to see it through.

The World of Ice and Fire belongs to George R.R. Martin; I am simply playing in his sandbox.This fanfiction comes from a deep dive into Gamer fics, and the idea of writing one myself was inescapable. I will not pretend that the ideas are wholly my own; instead, they are developed from some of these others (gamer or otherwise). I apologise for any grammatical errors, as this has not been proofread.
I would like to promise updates and more chapters, but I am writing a thesis, and this is already longer than that (whoops), so we will see. If there are updates, they will be sporadic.
