Oh god. this was her fault. This was all her fault. Sam was dead because of her. A part of Celia's mind screamed at her, reminding her that this is what she came here for in the first place. That she wanted this. She shouldn't get to feel guilty about this, about what she had done to Sam. But she can't stop the excessive remorse that shoots through her like someone had stabbed her with a burning knife. She wants to throw up.
"They’re gone, Alice… They’re gone."Alice is silent. She looks at Celia, her gaze almost vacant as she tries to possess the words. To possess what had happened. Before Celia can say anything else Alice has collapsed to her knees. For a moment she just sits there, the basement is filled with a bitter and cold silence. Only to be broken by ugly, broken, sobs.
