Summary
When Akira first stepped foot into Leblanc Café, he noticed three things.
One: There were four people sitting at the counter around an older, gruff-looking man making strong-smelling coffee.
Two: The man at the counter—Sojiro Sakura, his volunteer probation officer, Akira assumed—was talking amicably with Goro Akechi.
Three: Goro Akechi; the teen detective who Akira had seen at least five posters for on the way to his living arrangements, was talking to his volunteer probation officer.
How embarrassing.
or;
Akira Kurusu is realizing the world is more corrupt than he'd previously thought. Akechi, who'd already known this, is dragged into whatever this "Medjed Intelligence" thing is that Akira and Futaba seem so intent on.

Summary
He turns and sees his mother, dressed in perfectly embroidered red velvet, her eyes a vibrant yellow. Akechi falls back, completely frozen, frightened to his very core by the sound of her breathing. He drowns himself in the water without a second thought.
“Goro!” her voice is the last thing he hears.
And he gasps for air when he returns to reality. He’s dry and in his school uniform. He feels something in his pocket. The newest model of a branded smartphone. On it is one app that stares at him, the Meta-Nav, waiting for him to open. He taps instantly, looking for answers to the hell he landed in. There were three keywords in its history:
Goro Akechi. Former Akechi Residence. Labyrinth.
When he looks up, he sees his old neighborhood. He goes pale at the sight of his childhood home destroyed.
Four months. Four months until he needed to have his plan set in motion. Four months until his first day of high school. Goro Akechi is only fifteen and running out of time to live.

Summary
The way his shoulders shake, the corners of his eyes creased from his smile- that combined with his glamour, he looks so human in that moment that it makes Akechi want to be sick.
"You can't hear it...They're calling out for this. For us. A myriad of voices crying out as one. Begging for retribution at our hands."
Akechi narrows his eyes and scoffs. A seething disgust trembling in his fists. Self-righteous bastards, all of them- Unsure if he means the fae or the people of Japan.
"That sounds like a load of bullshit to me. And what, do you think they're right? That we should just sit here and let the world crumble so you bastards can inherit it?"
The corners of that blissful and untouchable smirk finally turn down, and Akechi suddenly feels he understands what people mean when they call eyes windows. Only Joker's feel clouded over, a thick fog against the glass. The kind a child would press their finger to and draw a smile.
"No, I don't."
------
A phenomenon known as leyline blossoms are spreading across Japan like wildfire and it's on Akechi's shoulders to find the cause. Only one thing, or rather one person, keeps standing in his way.

Summary
The world became distorted around them, before soon they arrived at the entrance of a castle. The castle looked like something out of a fairy tail, it had red roofing and white walls. There was a bridge in front of them that lead to the castle doors. A boy sat with his legs hanging off of the bridge. He had caramel hair reaching to his shoulders. He was wearing a mostly white and red princely outfit, gold in some places as well.
“Hello!” The boy said, looking up at them. His eyes were yellow.

Summary
When you have no home, everyday is unpredictable. Everyday is an uphill battle towards some semblance of stability and consistency. And Goro had to deal with this reality through most of his life. Although, there was a time when he didn't mind it at all.
I originally just wanted this to be about exploring Akechi's past. Stuff like his childhood with his mother, how he first found the Metaverse, how he became Shido's assassin, etc. It got a bit out of hand so now it's also an AU where he gets adopted by Wakaba Isshiki and saves her instead woops.
Mostly good Goro but he still turns into an assassin.
tw's at the beginning of every chapter, cuz this shit's gonna get really heavy.

Summary
"Goro could distantly feel something… shaking him…? Something landed on a bruise covered up by his shirt sleeve and he flinched, blearily opening his eyes.
“Hey, what are you doing out here?” A voice said and Goro looked up, squinting his eyes as the sun beamed in his face. “Are you lost?” The man asked gruffly.
“Um, n-no. No I’m not.” He replied nervously, keeping his eyes averted. The man knelt down to eye level and Goro shrunk in on himself."

“A pipe bomb.”
Akira frowned. “A wh—”
“You blew yourself up with a fucking pipe bomb.”
And Kurusu Akira had the utter gall to look at him sheepishly.
“It was what was there,” he said.
“Would you care to explain why?”
“I don’t know, because you were lying there bleeding out from a hole in your stomach and I had just watched Yusuke get his fucking skull caved in?”
Oh.
Right.

Summary
"Do you agree to these terms?"
Goro looked between the two girls, then at Igor. He was beginning to get the unsettling feeling that he was in no mere dream. That whatever he answered here would have consequences, far-reaching ones that he couldn’t possibly predict. That the safer option would be to tell this strange man to piss off and send him back to his own reality.
But then he thought of his mother, lying in the bathtub beneath water pink with her own blood. Of the peeling white wall across from his bed in the orphanage, as blank and as empty as his life was going to be once he was released from the foster system. One year. One year was all he had.
Anything had to be better than that blank wall.
“I agree.”
Akechi Goro's backstory in detail, as well as the events of Royal from his point of view.
