Alhaitham snapped the book shut. “Don’t tell me… you’ve never heard of the Sumeru Krampus?” If that man was capable of making facial expressions his eyes would’ve widened, and perhaps his jaw would’ve dropped.
“I can’t say that I have…” Kaveh said, now intrigued. Alhaitham’s eyes darkened.
“You might want to sit down, Kaveh. What I’m about to tell you is very serious.”
On the evening of the Teyvat equivalent of Christmas, all Kaveh wanted was a pleasant Teyvat equivalent of Christmas party with his closest friends. However, the night turned for the worst once he learned that the Sumeru Krampus would be coming to town.

She thought with exasperation. Yoimiya giggled at the exchange. But her eyes locked with Childe's and her amusment was vaporized.

“Tch,” Wanderer says, but nothing more. Xiao’s eyes are bright but they’re also old. So old on such a young face. He knows those eyes.

Aether abandoned Lumine in full, choosing the darkness of the void over her. Aether, her twin, the only stable thing she's ever know in her cursed, immortal life. Even thinking about it makes her feel as though she is dying inside, withering away into nothing but smoke and ash. That pain tore at her, shredding her heart into a thousand irremediable pieces. She tried her best, continuing her journey for far longer than most would consider reasonable, all to no avail. Aether was lost to her, maybe forever. Distraught and alone in the world, she found herself settling in a quiet meadow northeast of Liyue Harbor. Her depression spiraled out of control, leading her to reckless and dangerous behavior. Xiao saw her pain and desperately wished to ease it. He decided to start visiting her. In the beginning they were spontaneous and rare, yet as time continued its endless march, she slowly began calling to him, and he never failed to answer. This became their routine, her call coming at the first light of each new dawn.

The porcelain cup clinked softly against the platter as she set it down; sadness permeating her gaze as her eyes traced the intricate carvings etched into its rim. It was delicately framed by dragons sculpted into the solid piece of gold, as if mocking her. An invidious homage to the very person at the center of so much of her grief. His form seemed to adorn every walkway, every building, street, vase, and tray in this Gods forsaken city. It had this air about it; as if the entire empire was silently praying to the man with a thousand stone eyes.

A story in which: you just wanted help reading some runes, your parents wanted to you to marry, Al-Haitham wanted a cover story for when he went out into the desert, and Kaveh is...well...he's...he's there for you. Needless to say you're now all one big happy (?) family!
