Summary
If Kay-Tu were here with him he’d be telling Cassian that the odds of successfully completing his mission were 46.8% higher with properly forged documents. He knew when to concede the point.
“Fine. The market square, tomorrow, eighteen hundred hours.”
“Brilliant!” the girl said and began to make her way toward the door.
“Hey, one last thing,” Cassian called to her as an afterthought. She stopped and turned to him waiting. “What’s your name, really?”
Her gaze turned calculating for a moment, then cleared. “Dawn. Kestrel Dawn.”

Summary
“I know perfectly well how smugglers modify their ships to accommodate their trade and if I had wanted to arrest you for illegal possession of whatever you have tucked away in your ship then I would have done so earlier,” he told her in a surprisingly calm and reasonable voice. “I’m here now because I need your help.”
Now Jyn knew exactly what to say. “Go to hell.” She picked up her pace.
“You should hear me out.” Jyn ignored him and shoved aside an innocent bystander in her annoyance at Willix’s inability to properly read the situation. “If you enter that hangar I guarantee you will be arrested on the spot.”
That finally made Jyn stop and turn to face him. “I haven’t done anything wrong,” she said through gritted teeth.

Summary
After months of searching and looking in obscure corners of the galaxy, Cassian couldn’t believe what he was hearing. In fact, he didn’t. He’d been down this road before and knew better than to get his hopes up that someone had actually, finally found Jyn Erso. Between Erso and the nebulous rumors of a weapon, Cassian had been chasing leads from Coruscant to Kessel, all of them turning to dust in the wind. That didn’t mean he wasn’t going to check it out though. Jyn Erso was potentially connected to something too big for him to brush aside the observations of one of his fellow soldiers.

Summary
Now that they were on Eadu, less than a kilometer from her father, her driving passion was back and all of it focused on extracting Galen Erso from amid a well defended Imperial installation. It was something of a problem for Cassian who had orders to assassinate the man, not save him. For the first time since he had joined the Rebellion when he was ten, Cassian wasn’t sure he would be able to carry out his mission.
***

Summary
“Wait!” She bit out sharply and tugged Cassian’s hand clutching the comlink away from his mouth. “Wait, not yet. We can still get further before we reveal our presence on Scarif and that will buy us more time once the diversion moves into full swing.”
Cassian looked skeptical. “If they’re already in place out there then I’m not sure how much longer they can stay hidden. I’m sure they had to take out some troops just to set the charges."
“I know, but if they can give us as much time as they’re able, I think it will help.”
“Stand by, Melshi,” he said into the comlink. “We’re going to try something. Wait for the signal if you can, but if you see your moment to light the place up, then take it.”
“Understood. Standing by.”
Cassian turned to face her. “Whatever you have in mind had better work.”

Summary
“Here we go again,” Cassian said to himself and schooled his expression into a mask of cold indifference tempered by a hint of unease for his general situation. He put a hand to his still painful shoulder wound to help sell the part of injured, yet heroic, Imperial captain, then he hit the hatch release lever.
The cool, sterile, recycled air of the Destroyer hit Cassian’s face and he breathed deeply, letting the sense memory guide him further into the role of Willix. He climbed carefully out of the pod, making sure to give the stormtroopers on guard no reason to fire. Jyn followed him out a bit less sedately, but she held herself in the least threatening manner he’d seen from her since Wobani so he figured she was at least trying. Cassian decided to let the commander speak first and set the tone and direction of the conversation so that Cassian could steer it forward from there.
The commander looked the pod’s former occupants up and down, his eyes narrowed and lips slightly pursed in consideration. “Captain Willix, I presume?” he said, raising one skeptical eyebrow.
