Description:

Denidriel is one of the younger Angels, not yet grown distant like his older brothers and sisters and far too eager to discover the secrets that the Human world holds. He goes by Dean, mostly because it annoys the other Angels. He's lived his existence being told that he's a bad influence on Samuel, who, to be fair, doesn't always fight that influence very hard.

When Dean stumbles across a tight-knit band of hunters, he's intrigued to learn they share not only their passion for helping people but also their blood. The youngest, a mere pup in comparison to the others, reminds Dean in a way of Samuel, his own younger brother and the only other Angel he's ever enjoyed being around.

Dean wants to learn about humanity, about the humans and their world. Castiel has caught his attention and Dean is determined to stick around this human, despite what the other Angels say.

Notes:

Castiel is the youngest in a large family of hunters. He's been on the road his whole life, skipping from city to city, state to state, living in motels and a secretive list of safe houses his family have bought, saved or claimed over the years. He and his two brothers hunt the Supernatural. It's what they were raised to do. It's the family business. They're not the only Hunters in the world, but the Novaks are pretty well known for being the best. Or at least that's what their parents always told them.

Only lately it's started to feel more and more like they're just scraping survival. Every hunt has been more and more dangerous, every escape closer and closer to a failure. Until one day a Demon, and a particularly nasty one at that, hooked its claws into Gabriel and Castiel did something that changed everything. It was an easy choice. While Balthazar was recovering from their most recent tangle with Hell's black-eyed inhabitants, Castiel summoned himself a Crossroads Demon and signed himself a contract.

He got a year. It was a fair price to pay for his big brother back.
