Raf looked back at his plate. “You think I should do it?”
"I don't know. I don't think. . . I sort of fell into it. I mean, I could stop if I wanted to, but I like it. I like helping. And yeah, there's downsides. But it's worth it.”
He smiled. “And the company is good?”
"It is. We're family. All of us.”
That hit him like a punch in the stomach. He hadn’t had a family a long time. “Okay.”
She grinned and clapped her hands. "Welcome to the Avengers."

That got Peter to laugh and duck his head. “How about coffee?”

For a moment, the words didn't make sense. Kate had been bracing herself for any number of worst case scenarios. That particular one hadn't been on the list.
"I'm. . . what?"
"Pregnant," she said again. Shifting the box a little, she pointed to the blobs. "Right there. If you want to see."
Kate propped herself up on her elbows and looked where Tess had pointed. Sure enough, that particular blob had a head and a body and what looked like arms. As she watched, those arms wiggled around and the whole thing seemed to turn and roll over.
"Shit," she whispered.
