Summary
"As a token of my gratitude," the king announces, voice booming, "this young man will be elevated to serve my son directly."
Wooyoung freezes. His gaze darts to San, who looks equally displeased, though he masks it with a tight, polite smile. San's eyes meet Wooyoung's, and for a moment, it's as though they're both silently rebelling against the decision.
Wooyoung opens his mouth to protest, but before he can, the king continues, leaving no room for argument. "From this day forward, you will be my son's personal servant. It is a position of great honor, one that reflects the gratitude of the crown."
Or
Wooyoung has many secrets to keep, yet somehow he finds himself in a position he never wanted in the first place. Maybe this position isn’t so bad…maybe he proves himself wrong and makes things entirely worse for himself and for the prince he works for.

Summary
"Will you ever tell San?" Hongjoong asks softly, his tone almost a whisper, as if afraid of the answer. "What do you think he would do?"
Wooyoung almost laughs at the absurdity of the question, bitterness creeping into his voice.
"There's no point in thinking about it. It's never going to happen." The words feel final, and a deep sense of resignation settles in his chest. He knows the reality: revealing his magic would mean risking everything. Love, or his allowance to stay in the kingdom—it's a precarious balance, one that he knows he cannot maintain.
Or
Wooyoung was never not San’s.

Summary
"Be myself..." Wooyoung murmurs, his brow furrowing as he leans back against the mattress, staring at the ceiling. "That got me into this mess in the first place."
San narrows his eyes playfully, leaning closer. "Are you calling me a mess?"
"The king of Aurora is in my room asking me to be his little court mage—I'd call you a mess." Wooyoung lifts his gaze, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "A cute mess, but still a mess."
Or
San creates an opportunity for Wooyoung to be around him more—though it’s not all it cracks up to be.

Summary
"Let me help," San says, stepping closer, determination etched on his face.
"No." Wooyoung's response is quick and harsh, instinctively turning back to face San, only to see him frozen in place, taken aback by the suddenness of Wooyoung's refusal. "I don't want you and Yeosang hurt. Just...stay over there."
San's expression falters, disappointment flickering in his eyes.
"Wooyoung, I can handle myself," he insists, but the uncertainty in his voice betrays his confidence.
"I know you can," Wooyoung replies, his voice softening despite the urgency thrumming in his veins. "But this isn't just any magic. If it's targeting me, it could be dangerous for you too. I can't risk your safety."
Or
Something happens to Yeosang, maybe it was intended for Wooyoung, he doesn’t really know and he won’t have time to figure it out while Yeosang is coughing like he won’t live to see the next day.

Summary
"You should see for yourselves," he says, voice low, "but... don't laugh. He got all mad and hid from us."
Yeosang raises an eyebrow, casting a sidelong glance at Wooyoung, who's already smiling as though he suspects what they're about to walk into.
"Why would we laugh?" he asks, sounding suspiciously innocent.
"Especially you, Wooyoung," Hongjoong says with a warning look. "No laughing. Seriously."
Or
Someone has let out a goblin in the castle. It seems the victim of its enchantment has a certain…cat like nature.

Wooyoung scribbles the message hastily, the words almost blending together in his rush. He can picture San reading it, brow furrowed, the spark of irritation he's sure will follow his parting line. But he has to go. He seals the letter, pressing his fingers over the wax to ensure it stays in place.
"I'm not running away. I will be back soon. I love you... don't be mad. Do not come."
Or

Summary
The mage raises an eyebrow, the corners of his mouth twitching with amusement. "Help you? Oh, my dear young mage, this is a test. A trial for you both. You must learn to navigate your fears and desires. Only then will you find the way out."
San clenches his fists, the tension mounting as he watches Wooyoung's expression darken with frustration.
"A test? Wooyoung's life is on the line."
"Is it?" The mage muses, his tone mockingly inquisitive as his eyebrows raise curiously. "Is his life truly in danger? Or is it your perception that threatens to unravel you?"
Or
Wooyoung’s reckless actions have finally caught up to him mo matter how hard he tried to outrun them.
