  Summary

  “The Powers That Be have chosen you,” the Oracle tells them. “A messenger. And a champion.”
  “Uh-huh,” Daniel says, glancing at Louis. “You buy this ‘cosmic forces good and evil’ thing?”
  Louis doesn’t appear to hear him, fixated on the Oracle’s words with such earnestness that Daniel doesn’t need his new visions to see the rest of his short life flash before his eyes– slowly dismembered by vampires who already wanted to kill Louis even before he started a new career in vigilante do-gooding.
