Summary
Akira swims away, laying on his back, exposing the sheer amount of muscle that lines his abdomen, sides, and arms. Goro’s eyes watch Akira’s torso, mesmerized by the way his gills flutter with each breath. Crossing his arms behind his back, Akira cocks his head at Goro, arching an eyebrow. If Goro didn’t know any better, he might think the mer was putting himself on display.
-----For the last seven years of his life, Goro Akechi has trained to kill mers. To prove that he"s come of age and is a man among men, he has to bring one home as a trophy. When he goes out to sea to trap and kill his first mer, he does so just before breeding season, in hopes that he"ll catch an unsuspecting mer. Instead, he"s caught unawares by a mer with a thing for humans. This human in particular.
