Summary
A sentient Shadow had never been a problem for Alastor, it’s an useful resource to not have to deal with the real strength of his most primal emotions, a valuable ally when in battle he needed a helping hand. And, apparently, a life saver when his stubbornness would risk his own existence.
Yet, something he never expected from it was to develop a liking for other being, much less a liking for the King of Hell.

Summary
When he emerges again from the darkness, Alastor is facing a view that exists only in the rooftop of the Hotel, behind the luminous sign of its name. The lights face the other way, the city beyond them, chaotic and loud with suffering and ridiculous wars. Up there, they face the rest of the Pride Ring, its wildness and what lies beyond the limits established for the sinners, a landscape that Alastor can only dream with visiting one day.
Lucifer is sitting there, behind the luminous sign, hair a mess and eyes not looking anything at all, just the dark sky above them and the clouds that threat them with acid rain. He is, apparently, still in his pajamas and duck slippers, not even the purple robe he usually uses to cover the childish patters on his night clothing to pretend some modesty. Alastor can only guess that the fallen angel got our of bed and came straight to this place (if he ever went to bed at all), adding another layer to his already Charlie-induced worry.
“Hey Al” Lucifer greets, lifting the hand that is not petting his Shadow like a house cat, his gaze still fixated on the horizon.
