Summary
Within the confines of Derbyshire society, the Asquiths were generally accounted to be a bit tilting off their beans. So to speak. Reputation in the dumps after all the financial foderall and foo fa. Only Maud, the Dowager Countess, had a regular income and that was just spiff.
Still, fortunes were rising (and the Viscount hoped a balloon) and with new eligible whos in the shire, love was in the air. Also, a balloon, because the son of the estate was quite keen.Series

Summary
St. Morgan Abbey slept in a shallow bowl among the highest peaks of Derbyshire. Snow dusted the black spines of her ancient roof. Ice glazed the warped windows that gazed upon the icy black lake below. A waterfall oozed from the higher reaches in a slick stain upon stone.
St. Morgan had not been an abbey since the dissolution when the first viscount purchased the estate from old Coppernose. She was not always an abbey. The mound where the main gazebo stood had once been sacred to the Morrigan long before the Romans crossed the channel.
However, the fortunes of shire were rising and the house was waking.

Summary
Constance counted herself fortunate to live at Wessex Castle, and really, the little tasks that the Viscountess asked of her were of no consequence.
There had been a Gregson in service at Wessex Castle for generations and so it would always be.
True the house had fallen on hard times, but so had the rest of the district. That this was about to change was as evident as the signs of spring.

Summary
Once long ago, but not so long ago as it may seem, there was a shire of tall peaks and tors and the occasional moor. This is not to say these were the most towering peaks in the round of the world. Not even the proudest resident of this shire would have claimed that.
Certainly, the residents of Ponsonby Place would not have. However, the residents of Ponsonby Place were thought to be the most fortunate by their neighbors for a wealthy uncle had died and left the family a sum of money.
Strange fortune if so. To celebrate the passing of a loved one, but so was the way of the world. So too was the way of ghosts and the spirits that linger behind.
