Missing scene during LHOTP Season 4, Episode 17: Be My Friend. Laura returns home late after finding a message in a bottle and Charles makes the comment that he hasn't given her a whuppin' in a long time and thinks he's made a mistake there. This is my take on if Charles HAD followed through.
