Summary
“They keep saying that L’Manburg take a lot of prisoners, and how terrible they treat them,” he murmured to Q. He didn’t really know the man, not at that point, but he had been the only one willing to entertain a conversation on the way here. Even though he insisted on being called by a single letter. “When are they going to tell us what to actually do if we get captured?”

Summary
The portside city slowly grew smaller as the ship sailed forward. They were massive, sprawling metropolis, so different from the small landlocked village that Techno had been so desperate to escape. The first time he’d seen one, it had looked like salvation, and filled him with dizzying relief.
Relief that quickly dissolved back into panic. As it turned out, pirates did nothing for free, and being ‘rescued’ came with a cost.

Summary
So the circus was in town.
That was nice. Phil remembered when he was younger, hearing little kids beg their parents for tickets. A night of magic and evasion. He could do with that.
But with the way his life was going, he was much more likely to end up as one of the attractions, than in the audience. With his flock killed off and his soul bonds still empty, Phil has all but given up on life. Tonight, he’ll get auctioned off to some rich prick and spend the rest of his days in a gilded cage. But strange things happen when the circus is around…

Summary
“I know you’ll handle this well,” his old social worker had said, with a hand on his shoulder that had him tensing up. “You’re a resourceful kid, Tommy. Or, should I say, adult! Happy birthday, by the way.”
Ever since his falling out with the nicest foster family he ever had, Tommy had just been waiting to age out. He was done with taking so much and relying on others.
What Tommy doesn’t understand yet, is that helping and needing help are a part of what makes us human. But he’s about to learn.
Through being sick, unfortunately.Whumptober day 27: Nausea / Starvation
