Summary
Had the Argonian any eyebrows, they’d have raised, based on the aghast expression he wore. Sero tilted his head sideways and glanced between the two of them. Clearly, he’d been recognized. Neloth had never in his life paid enough attention to any of the…Argonians…to know the difference, let alone recognize one.
“Nerevarine…this is the…healer…you’ve brought us?” the Argonian asked. To his credit, he kept his voice soft and even. The tone of Argonian voices at full volume were perhaps the most grating noises Neloth could think of.
Sero coughed. “Yeah, Im-Kilaya. This is—”
“—Councilor Neloth, yes. I am…familiar.”

Summary
Drelayn scooted closer and leaned his shoulder against Teldryn’s, winding his fingers through his. He could feel the tension in them, under the bruises, the callouses. Under the ring, too—Moon-and-Star—whose enchantment buzzed like a distant hive of bees. He brought Teldryn’s hand up and kissed the back of it. That earned him a look, a tiny quirk of a smile. And then he was distant again, head full of plans. Fears. Doubts.
This was the last stop. Everything he’d been through, every deed done, and finally, Aryon would name him Hortator. And that would be that. A prophecy complete. Aside from the runs to Black Marsh he’d been doing for the Lamps, Drelayn had been here much of the way. He smiled to himself and watched as Teldryn hugged his knees to his chest with a sigh and rested his chin on them, making himself small. Always so melancholy. Always worried about the next step.

Summary
There had been scouts sent out before her. None had returned. Veru Bavani had known the rumors of what would haunt these caves adjacent to ancient Dwemer strongholds. There hadn’t been a reason to confirm previously. But now? There’d been far too much loss, and whatever was going on up ahead would have to be dealt with. If she didn’t figure out what the problem was, the whole plan would fall to shambles. Then, what of the lives lost in the process? Would that have been for nothing? The point of this was to fight well against that which threatened not only the Mountain, but the world. Life. Love. All of that. While it would make for a decent epic, some of them would have to live in order for it to be written. So the task of finding out why the mission repeatedly failed fell to her. She kept her free hand on the hilt of her sword, and it grounded her enough to keep moving.
Nobody knew the Mountain as well as she did, anyway.

Summary
It never snowed like this on Vvardenfell. All that place got was ash, especially these days. Not that Solstheim was immune, but this part of the island was at the whim of the storms off the sea. That meant—much to his chagrin—blizzards.
Teldryn Sero looked up, letting a few heavy flakes fall onto his chitin lenses, melting and obscuring his vision. At least not much had changed since the last time he left it.
He’d wandered out here on some mindless quest for Neloth. The old bastard was tired of his drinking, and tired of his chaos, or so he had vehemently spat. After Teldryn had gone and destroyed Raven Rock’s shrine to the Nerevarine—and blasted bits of the roof off the temple to boot—Neloth had given him a bit of an ultimatum. Shape up or ship out. To be perfectly honest, neither of those options appealed to him. But then again, neither did wasting away in the Bulwark jails for being a destructive s’wit.

Summary
She knew why he was here, then. Since the Mercer issue, he’d been distant enough, which was to be expected. He’d said once he’d never meant to get roped into cults and guilds. He wasn’t necessarily the best thief she’d ever seen, either, to be perfectly fair. He would be running again. Galathil knew that peace was fleeting, if it even existed at all. And they had had peace, even if it was just for a moment. Consequences seemed to demand it as payment whenever they caught up.
“You can’t know for sure if he recognized you, Teldryn.”
“I can’t be sure he didn’t.” He still gripped her hand. She could see, even through the armor, the tension in his shoulders. Could hear it in his voice, too. “Galathil…please. I just. I know what I said about your skills. I know. But I’ve changed my mind. Can you help me?”
“And rid the world of a face like yours?” she asked. Her smile was wistful.

Summary
Teldryn Sero stood on an outcropping of rock that overlooked the frozen wasteland that was Northern Solstheim. Wind whipped around his face, dry snow collecting in the crevices of his chitin goggles. His scarf barely kept the sting of the weather from searing his skin. Bitter cold seeped through every layer of fur and chitin armor, numbing his fingers and feet. He stuck his hands under each armpit and wondered if it would ever be possible to warm up again.
Likely not.
This was not the first time he’d been trapped all the way out here by the hand of an errant blizzard. It was, however, the first time he’d glimpsed a ghost in the wastes.

Summary
“Nyenna, we have to go,” Eris said. His voice was so, so distant, it almost didn’t sound real. It was as if she was in a nightmare, and he was speaking to her from outside of it. “Nyenna, please! We need to go, now, before they find out—”
This couldn’t be real. It couldn’t. Nyenna stood frozen in the doorway of the manor, the door peeled off its hinges like so much treebark.
Mother…she’s…
