Summary
Cazador Szarr didn’t intend to turn a man like Astarion. That’s Aurelia’s working theory. Astarion—loud, prideful, panicky Astarion—was a crime of passion from a passionless monster. Astarion is a crime scene, not of a murder (murder isn’t a crime to a predator) but rather the crime of losing control. Aurelia is pretty sure Cazador couldn’t help himself. AKA: 5 times Cazador saw Astarion before he finally killed him.

Summary
The night Cazador sealed Astarion in a tomb, there was something much worse on the table. Not that Astarion will appreciate that, the ungrateful little wretch.

Summary
Astarion doesn't dream, but his mental recursions have gotten so elaborate to avoid reliving horror every night that there's not much difference between the nightmares he makes for himself and the ones that wait in the dark. AKA: Origin Astarion early nights in Act 1 with his initial travel companion, who notices he doesn't rest easy.

Summary
As more and more people join the party – all of them adventurers of some repute or renown – Astarion becomes all that more disposable in comparison. He endeavors to keep up or be left behind. (Because of course they will leave him behind. Right?) AKA: Act 1 Astarion’s race from a true level one character to team rogue and the rest of the team's reactions to that.

Summary
Wyll, Karlach, and Lae’zel speak with a Gur monster hunter in a bog and Astarion happens to be there. It’s a very awkward way to get outted as a vampire to your (mostly) unsuspecting teammates. AKA: Tav-less Act 1 party jumps the team rogue and holds him down for questioning. It's fine.

Summary
The team kills the paladins of Tyr, but given the lot of them were hired to hunt Karlach at her super-powerful best, they decide to go about it in a sneaky way that only backfires a little bit on Astarion. Karlach feels poorly about it. They have a talk about the harm that's done to you and the harm you do to others in the name of that. AKA: Karlach and Astarion bond about having been forced to do (and enjoy) terrible terrible things in the past.

Summary
Astarion meets a cleric of the goddess of pain and while he does not believe for a bloody second that he’ll receive the blessing of any god, he likes the idea of obliterating the 'poetry' on his back. Or that was the idea. Turns out… there is one goddess that loves him dearly. AKA: Loviator blesses Astarion. She’s been waiting for him to say her name again, you see.

Summary
Astarion fast-talks an abnormal number of enemies into killing themselves in the shadow-cursed lands and the team makes idle (then less idle) conversation about it. It’s completely fine and doesn’t bother him at all and it absolutely doesn’t draw additional questions about why he does what he does for the team... and what they in turn would do for him.
IE: Origin-run Astarion fic because its interesting to me how the party reacts to their vampire buddy if he doesn’t have Tav to be a social buffer for him. Act 2 content and spoilers.

Summary
When a fight goes south, Astarion doubles down on using the illithid parasites and the rest of the team sees how deep his fears truly run. IE: Origin-run Astarion going full illithid power through Act 2 and what his team has to do to convince him to stop.
