Summary
Shattered laughed from somewhere in front of him. "So high strung, little light." He murmured, sounding both amused and pitying. "You do need something like this, don't you?"
Dream opened his mouth to retort, to deny—but the words were quickly lost, slipping through his mind like grains of sand through the divots between his fingers as bright heat accosted him. He yelped at the sudden contact, distal phalanges pressing against the back of his neck. It felt like being kissed with flame.
"There, there." A different voice cooed from his back. "We'll make it better, darling."

Summary
"You often speak of our fate," Dream began cautiously.
"Yes, little Dreamcatcher?" Shattered responded with a low hum, his single eye-light shifting to regard Dream properly.
The younger Guardian emitted a flustered huff at the nickname bestowed upon him, attempting to brush it off, though neither Shattered nor his positively corrupt counterpart were easily deterred. Dream proved to be a teasing target all too easy to provoke.
"Is it so awful?" Dream managed, his tone laced with a hint of nervousness and trepidation.

Summary
Dream sighed, his exasperation palpable as he reclined onto the bedspread, briefly surrendering to the darkness behind his closed eyelids. Part of him dared to hope that when he reopened them, this would all prove to be nothing more than a figment of his imagination. Yet, the lingering weight of the collar and cuffs dashed his optimism.
"I have obligations today. Commitments and appointments," he began to protest, his voice laced with frustration, without even bothering to lift his lids. The sound of Sol's laughter, muffled by his gloved hand, only served to deepen his sense of resignation.
"What a pity you'll have to forgo them," Shattered remarked, his tone utterly indifferent to Dream's predicament, embodying a devil-may-care attitude. "Or perhaps you should be grateful that we took the liberty of informing your friends that you were feeling a touch unwell."
Alarm surged through Dream, panic compelling him to open his eyes and confront the pair of troublemakers who regarded him as nothing more than a plaything, an object for their amusement.
A toy.

Summary
"Wait, wait—" Dream’s protest fell out in a rushed breath, more tendrils slipping around him, coiling with a surprising tenderness as they supported his weight. Their touch was featherlight, far from constricting, almost careful in the way they held him.
He could have resisted. If he had truly felt inclined, he could have broken free. But the shock of the moment held him captive more than the tendrils themselves. His arms flailed, half-heartedly attempting to push away, but his willpower faltered before it even truly ignited. There was no real threat here, no sense of looming danger. He felt more surprised than anything else.
Perhaps, under different circumstances, Dream might have felt alarmed. Perhaps he should have been. But that wasn’t the point. Not now. Not with that quiet, unnerving comfort seeping into him like the coolness of the tendrils against his bones.

Summary
Dream’s mind felt thick, a muffled haze seeping through every thought, blurring each edge the longer he lingered in Sol’s presence. It was as if his very will was dulled, wrapped in an unseen fog that softened his defenses, weakening his resolve with every beat of his exhausted SOUL.
"You know this little barrier hardly holds us," Sol murmured, satisfaction curling in his tone like smoke. "Are you so eager to break our agreement?"
Dream’s jaw clenched, frustration pulsing through his core, his SOUL flickering in silent rebellion. "I’m not—" But his words stumbled, faltering as Sol’s fingers drifted over his shoulder in a avaricious caress, sending prickles down his spine and deepening the cloud over his mind.
"No?" Sol’s voice was a velvet whisper, a challenge wrapped in silk, his hand trailing down Dream’s arm, lingering just enough to leave a trail of heat in its wake. "Then be still, Guardian. Rest. Let yourself be attended to for once, won’t you?"
