Summary
There will always be two parts to her. The hero and the woman, all ideals and imperfections.
But she sees them both now, reflected back at her in the ruby shine of his eyes, cupped tenderly in his hands. Equal in measure, in worth. As though the whole of her is a jewel, priceless, her every facet exquisite.

Summary
"Thank you," she says eventually. His brow quirks, and she smiles. "I should have said it last night. Thank you for coming here with me, Raha."
He leans into her, their noses bumping once more, limbs tangled under the quilt. "I would go wherever you bid me," he says, taking her hand.

Summary
“I’m entirely yours,” he says, heat burning up the back of his neck, across his face. “For the next few days, at least.”
She draws back slightly and levels him with a meaningful look—full of the implication that he has been and will continue to be entirely hers for far, far longer than that, and she knows it all too well.

Summary
“My Raha,” she says, and in the fog of need, G’raha wonders if she understands just how much it feels, most times, as though she is not only the lodestar by which he'd charted the course of his life, but—
But the sun itself. Radiant and warm and beautiful, and him, ever circling in her orbit. And him, ever turning his face toward her light, reaching out, hungering for that warmth.

Summary
Solene’s smile is his first prize, the genuine glow of pleasure at his answer so radiant to his eyes that surely, he thinks, surely this is what it must be to stare freely at the sun, if one had the power to do so without the risk of burn.
“You need not dress,” she says, gently patting the space beside her. “Come sit.”
Oh, but what a thing it would be, G’raha thinks, silently padding over to do as she bids—to simply let the heat overwhelm, and go up as kindling for the flame.

Summary
“Oh, I’ve missed that,” she whispers, tipping her head at him. There’s a naked vulnerability rarely heard in her voice—the kind reserved for him alone, that makes his heart trip over itself. “That way you look at me.”

Summary
His fingers gently comb through her half-silvered tresses. “If I’m allowed to fuss over you, then I mean to take full advantage of it.”
Her answering smile is brilliant. “Like a lover?” she murmurs teasingly.
He kisses her again—harder this time, fervent and honest with his desire, his teeth nipping sharply at the softness of her bottom lip. “Like your lover,” he breathes when they part.

Summary
"Raha," she starts, voice dropping to a whisper. "Do you remember when I would sneak into your bed?"
He raises his head to look at her; it takes a moment for the fog of need to clear from his eyes enough to recall the memory. Then it surges back twofold, pupils dilating so wide that his irises are naught but a thin ring of blood red around them, and oh yes, he most certainly does.

Summary
G’raha blinks dazedly in the light, her lovely face swimming into view.
“Oh, darling,” she says, plainly trying not to laugh again; his pupils are monstrously large. She puts her palm to his chest, feeling the feverishness of his bare skin and the triphammer rhythm of his heart. “How many pieces did you eat?”
